DICKSON NTWIGA

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

Dickson David Ntwiga is a human rights activist who is working in Kenya to empower disadvantaged women and their families. Through training, education, and micro-credit programs, Dickson's organization Solidarity International Trust (SIT) has helped thousands of disadvantaged women to overcome poverty and take back control of their lives by providing access to start-up funds for income generating enterprises.

Born and brought up in Kenya, Dickson saw his mother subjected to repeated domestic violence which shaped his current vision. In a very patriarchal society where domestic violence wasn’t a criminal matter, the young Ntwiga was unable to help his mother. However, this experience led him later in life to research how victims of domestic violence could be protected in international law. He published his findings in his book entitled Protecting Domestic Violence Victims in US Asylum Law.

Dickson, is an alumnus of Mahidol and Oxford Universities, where he studied human rights and forced migration respectively.

After working as a teacher Dickson Ntwiga left Kenya for Thailand where he was Executive Director for the National Catholic Commission on Migration. Working with the UNHCR Dickson founded the first refugee shelter in Bangkok in 1999 and initiated a scholarship program to support the migrants.

Following his return to Kenya Dickson Ntwiga established the Solidarity International Trust which achieved charitable status in 2019. Ntwiga is also the Director of Technology Partnership as well as the Solidarity Children’s Home. During the covid pandemic he also helped establish feeding programs for street children in the Meru area.

He served as President of the Rotary Club of Meru and the Rotary Kenya Country Office Board and Assistant Governor for the district that includes Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. He is the recipient of the Rotary Star President Award and the Women’s Human Rights Advocate Award for Africa.

Recently, Dickson Ntwiga has been appointed to serve on the board of Formwelt, a company spearheading a universal language for humans and machines.

GITTA PEYN, INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Gitta Peyn is a German cybernetics and systems researcher. Together with her husband, Ralf Peyn, she has developed Formwelt, a universal language for humans and machines. The couple has also developed a polyvalent logic of cognition with the help of which they artificially emulate complex decision-making systems such as human cognition and communication, and from which they gain new insights into complex living systems.
 

Gitta Peyn is founder of the Formwelten-Institut, Germany and initiator of the international transdisciplinary Larnaca Conferences, 2021 conference speaker at WAAS and UN, internationally sought-after speaker for new education and communication systems and consultant. Together with her husband, the philanthropist promotes education and communication for understanding worldwide through the non-profit company Formwelt.

BEATRICE MWANGI, HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR

Beatrice Mwangi is a Management Consultant from Kenya with slightly over 20 years of combined working experience in various roles.

Her key strengths are organizational development, strategic management and capacity strengthenin and development. Primary areas of subject matter expertise are organisational reviews & restructuring, design and implementation of organizational HR policies and systems, development of organizational strategic and operational plans, design and implementation of organizational performance management systems, strengthening leadership capacity, and design, implementation, and analysis of various projects.  

She also has substantial experience in other strategic management services like performance management systems, policy review and development, job analysis and evaluation, work load analysis, job satisfaction and evaluation surveys, competency framework development, psychometric assessments administration & interpretation and executive selection.

She has worked with clients in the following industries: Government departments, parastatals, aid agencies, NGOs & development partners, banking, insurance, internet service providers, agriculture, manufacturing, telecommunications, public relations and hotel and tourism industry.

She has carried out various work assignments in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Somaliland, Swaziland, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Nigeria and South Africa.

Beatrice serves as a Director on several Boards like Parker Randall Eastern Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda), Clarkson Insurance Brokers Group (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia), Centre for Health Solutions (Kenya) and Trustee of Solidarity International Trust in Kenya.

She holds a BA Social Sciences and an MSc in Human Resource Management. She has also has PGDP in IT and Business administration.

LILLY KARIMI, BOARD SECRETARY

Lilly Karimi is a graduate from Egerton University. For more than twenty years, she has been teaching Agriculture and Biology in a number of High Schools in Kenya. Her excellent performance as a teacher earned her a place at the Kenya National Examinations Council, where she is responsible for marking Kenya’s National Exams annually.

Karimi also holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management.

She is currently serving as the Solidarity International Trust’s Board Secretary.
